Our Pennsylvania State Park Regional Swing Crew is actively planting what will eventually total a 40-acre pollinator meadow at Big Elk Creek State Park this week!
PA Native Species Day is 18 May, a day celebrating the importance of protecting and expanding native plant habitats! The meadow will provide habitat and food for pollinators like bees, butterflies, moths, and many other flying insect species that benefit our ecosystems. It will also provide native habitat and food for the diverse birds and small mammals that visit the watershed. Once the meadow blooms, it will be a beautiful sight!
